What You Need Before Starting

Before you begin, make sure you have:

Telegram installed on your phone or computer
An active AvatarClaw account

Keep the bot token private. It gives access to your Telegram bot and should never be posted publicly or shared with anyone you do not trust.

How to Set Up Telegram on AvatarClaw

Open Telegram and search for BotFather.
Click Start, then select /newbot from the menu or type /newbot.
Enter a name for your bot. Then, choose a username for your bot. The username must end with bot.
BotFather will generate a token. Copy the token and paste it into Step 1 of the Telegram integration setup in AvatarClaw.
Start a conversation with your new bot. The bot will send you a pairing code. Copy the code.
On the Integration page in AvatarClaw, click I have a pairing code and paste the code.
Test the integration by sending the bot a message. If the setup was successful, you should see a “typing…” indicator.
